In California, it’s standard for Mexican food restaurants to use those containers, and anything fried always melts through them. Tacos, taquitos and so on. They put a sheet of wax paper down first, but it’s never big enough to cover the entire container. Been like that since I can remember and the health board hasn’t said crap about it, so I’d like to think they’ve researched it and found it acceptable. All of my food purveyor companies sold the styrofoam containers, and they were the cheapest you could get, which is why they are so common.
