But for what motive? Why push people to think they’re part of a group so many paranoid assholes hate? And who seriously decides to be trans because of peer pressure? Trans men are being equated to pedophiles just because they want to wear a dress or use the Brandon Drury Los Angeles A Palm Trees American professional baseball utility player T-Shirt Besides,I will do this freaking bathroom. Trans teens without a strong support network are far more likely to be bullied and suicidal. They are a persecuted group, not a cool trend. Also, when looking at the percent increase over time, it’s most likely because more people are becoming more comfortable with sharing the fact they think that way, not that the numbers or people who do so are actually drastically changing. It’s like when being left-handed was disapproved of: over the course of the 20th century, the percentage of people who identified as left-handed increased over time as acceptance grew before finally plateauing when society finally made it totally okay. In the same way some people want a black friend just to have one, a lot of people think collecting alt/lgbtqia friends is proof that they’re an accepting or good person. I’m a man who paints my nails/wears makeup and when I first started a lot of people would be like “oooh your egg is cracking!!” and it was so fucking annoying, but most of it is from well meaning people who just don’t get it.
