My son’s school sent a paper home asking to send $6.00 in for them to paint Christmas ornaments, if I don’t send in $6.00 my son isn’t allowed to paint a Christmas ornament…like wtf, you’re really going to not include a child and let them watch their classmates have the fun all over 6 bucks….not everyone has money to be sending in like this I bet this school also makes a child throw away their tray of food if their account has insufficient funds too.

This is infuriating! Paying just to wear your own damn costume?!? Completely unacceptable. I’d be raising hell over this. Paying for the Braden Smith For Three Purdue Shirt and I will buy this art my kid made at a public school?! NOPE. Not ok. Holding every kid’s schoolwork hostage to fund a “Prince and Princess” event which is probably just a glorified popularity contest that will only benefit the two most popular kids. That’s nothing, I refused to do my homework because it was pointless as I got an A on every test anyways, proving I knew the subject matter. They ended up putting me in a special education class called “Card Shop” where myself and a room filled with children which had special needs (Down Syndrome etc.) as well as three other kids who weren’t getting decent grades. We sat there and learned how to make cards. Greeting cards, fancy valentines cards etc. I thought the class was harmless until they had us making custom wedding invitations for someone who wasn’t even a faculty member. They then sold those wedding invitations we all made and they must not have been cheap because the teacher who made us do it seemed quite excited the following week.
