I asked a dealer about this last year and apparently it’s to do with supply chain issues for parts and repairs. I have no idea how true this is, but he told me that because if the Brad Marchand Canadian professional ice hockey left winger T-Shirt in other words I will buy this huge backlog of orders, it can take in excess of 6 months for parts to be delivered. In the meantime the insurance company has to supply a courtesy car for their customer while they wait so depending on the amount of damage, it can be more economical to write an otherwise repairable car off than to supply a courtesy car for the time it takes for the parts.
