I wish I knew why you were downvoted. I bought an SSD in 2019, and last year the Bowser juice peaches dragon shirt and I love this same SSD (and equivalent models) had actually gone up in price. This way people that are going to play on 1080p (the majority on Steam) won’t have to download all those textures they’re not gonna use. Not really im not examining how the textures look that closely and when I do its more of a “Oh thats neat! Anyways” If you don’t personally care about how textures look, then that’s fine, but not everyone on 1080p minds their game looking better. Especially when applied to large surfaces and items you regularly end up close to (Grass, trees, doors, stuff you just kinda end up with a face full of), 4k textures can make it look noticeably less bad.

I love it when one person speaks for thousands as if they’ve polled every single one and know that those opinions match up with theirs. I mean having the Bowser juice peaches dragon shirt and I love this 4k textures as an optional add on instead of being default doesn’t really detract from the experience of someone who wants the textures on a 1080p game. Whether the textures are included in the game files or the add-on, it’s still gonna take extra time to download. If you have textures taking up so much disk space I wouldn’t hold my breath that the devs did their best job in optimizing the game The natural evolution of hardware. I remember for GTA SA I had to debate uninstalling my whole library just to have space to play SA. Some 19 years later, download the same game on my phone without a concern of how much space it takes up. Just like gaming in the mid 2000s around the Xbox 360 era, there’s going to be a halt in computing performance and we’re going to see developers running back to being forced to optimized their games. It’s absolutely fucking insane Rockstar managed to make GTA 4 run on less than a gig of operational ram and now 16 gigs is considered minimum specs for some of these bloated ass code dumpsters for a single player title. I remember something about these these guys saying prior to the war that the game will not be made if a war happens. glad that they decided to still make the game though
