Not to mention, when you’re getting 5 bucks an hour, it’s pretty goddamn hard (if not impossible) to take pride in your job which will definitely cause an erosion in standards in *anyone*. Most of those gig work jobs pay like 5 dollars an hour (with one in particular that pays just a bit more) in my area….. and the Bonk Turbografx Shirt and I will buy this same thing is happening. There’s very sketchy people doing that kind of work, doing an extremely sketchy job. Same thing with Uber and any other app based convenience – make it great everyone at a loss until you control the majority of the market then you flip strategies to turn a profit at the expense of the workers and users … People are going to blame the economy and inflation. The reality of the situation is a lot of people that are involved in the gig economy are individuals that are incapable of maintaining a normal job. The fault is mainly at the feet of the corporations like Doordash and Uber for exploiting their “contractors” for years. The people that consistently did a good job got squeezed out due to the criminally poor wages these corporations provided. For the record I am not saying the majority of drivers are like this. It takes a small group even if it is 5% of drivers some of the interactions are so toxic. Honestly, from my interactions as a restaurant operator the quality of the drivers took a nose dive mid way through 2020. I refuse to use the app as a customer in part due to my interactions with drivers at work, and because of negative experiences on the app as a customer. I feel for those of you that are hard workers that are trying to get your shit taken care of.

Remember doordashers are the Bonk Turbografx Shirt and I will buy this product not the asset. If they can get away with paying you less they will and enjoy it. The goal was to get as many people into the system then slowly lower the rates until they settled on the lowest that they can get without losing too many. It’s been like 3 years since I did Uber/Lyft/door dash/shipt as my only source of income, which I did for about 3 years total. At no time during that period was there ever an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction in the providers of any of those services on the general subreddits, or the more location specific ones, or in my conversations with the actual customers, or in my own use and friends and families use of the services. You may have been a decent human and good at the job and heard positive things about it, but generally the majority of people talking about the service in any light were people getting the short straw in terms of who was providing their service.
