I have personally seen straight up money scam adds on YouTube. Reported it. Have seen it months later still… They literally don’t care at all, as long as it doesn’t show something scary. That’s definitely not true (enlargement pills, sketchy dating ads, etc) but I was more talking about other more obscure sites. I just use DuckDuckGo browser. Haven’t tried it recently but it was able to play YouTube videos without actually going to YouTube.com That being said, YouTube Premium comes with a YouTube Music subscription (which is a pretty good service) and it’s not much different than paying for Netflix or ad-free Hulu. And long term, look at what other streaming sites are doing: Introducing paid ad plans. It’s only a matter of time before YouTube adds paid plans that still show ads.
