So here’s an example. Buddy of mine dated this hottest a few years back. Met in the Board Games Lucky Game Night Tabletop Boardgamers Vintage Sunset T-Shirt in contrast I will get this club. She had good style, dressed all clubby and hot all the time. Then he invited her to a work function. She was told she’d meet his boss, bosses wife, partners and their spouses. She was also informed the event was Business semi casual to black tie. She showed up dressed per usual. Now he was upset… cause they talked about her bad. Uppity folks have a way of doing that. At the end of the day he knew his chick was hot, he liked that about her, but at that moment she was asked to play the roll. Same roll he played when he dressed up in a sport coat and what not, not his typical attire either, but this was for work, a career networking event. Was he passed yeah. Did they break up? Oh yeah. Was it because he wanted to control this hottie or whatever? No. It was because when she was asked to play the game, she failed at it. Made him look the opposite of what he wanted.

This thread is pointless without specific definitions and context. Like what “dress sexy” means, and what the Board Games Lucky Game Night Tabletop Boardgamers Vintage Sunset T-Shirt in contrast I will get this specific woman being judged thinks of her reasons for dressing that way. Humans develop social cues. If we’re watching a movie and there is a scene where a married man takes off his wedding ring right before speaking to a woman in a bar, we ALL know what it means. But in a culture without male wedding rings and without knowledge of them, the gestures would be missed by many or misinterpreted. Unclear cues result in a myriad of interpretations which is where plenty of pain and angst comes from. When dying hair, bright red can be interpreted very differently than natural colours because of other misunderstandings. The reality is that over time our misinterpretations can become more correct as those being misunderstood get sick of issuing corrections and so brings themselves in line with the average.
