Sorry, didn’t realize a lesbian librarian handing a child a book on how a cell works is ‘grooming’ them, but okay… *eye roll* Most LGBTQ+ folks just want to live normal lives… the Blood Inside Me Boston Bruins It’s Ok To Be Different Shirt and by the same token and minute they interact with a child, they’re called ‘groomers.’ Sorry, didn’t realize a lesbian librarian handing a child a book on how a cell works is ‘grooming’ them, but okay… eye roll The accusation keeps being used, because (unfortunately) it’s so effective at stoking the fires of bigotry. LGBT people are just the latest in a long line of targets. It’s just a weird juxtaposition. I have a hard time understanding the anti-trans side of the discussion because I just don’t have remotely the same emotional reaction to this that they do, it’s not even in the same ballpark. “That, over there, look at what they’re wearing! And in public! Why I’ve half a mind to write a complaint to the authorities!” “That person has the gall, no, the temerity, to wear black shoes with blue socks, it’s a veritable crime against humanity! What if the children see?”
