My feeling is that it’s not that they are anti-abortion, but that the BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation monney we own you! T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this lawmakers they contribute to are fighting for other things that google and Amazon want, like not increasing the minimum wage, etc. What a clickbait article. They don’t support the Nazis because they hate people, they support the Nazis because it’s good for the German chemical engineering industry Yes. Unironically, that is what needs to be said. As long as you handwave away self-interest as the motivating factor, this cycle continues. That is legitimately why many businesses supported the Nazis. It’s important to note that hateful groups can win loyalty from people who don’t share their views. If you don’t allow any kind of nuance, you could even say the US government support the Nazis because they take in Nazi scientists into their ranks. If you are a supporter of the US space program and post WWII economic and military hegemony, operation paperclip was a good thing. It advanced the US space program, leading to many scientific advances we have today, and prevented the Soviets from gaining the knowledge and tech that could have changed the balance of the cold war. And I think it was unconscionable that we allowed genocidal ethnic purists get away with mass murder and supporting the Nazi regime willingly for a quid pro quo. Never mind allowing Unit 731 to go free.

The title clearly tries to suggest these companies are secretly, directly, and purposefully funding politicians due to their anti-abortion stance. I mean, funding anti-abortionist despite their belief that human beings shouldn’t have medical and bodily autonomy is actually worse. “We think that our profits are more important than your right to control your own body.” That is what Amazon and Google are saying if they ‘don’t care’ about the BlackRock Capital Investment Corporation monney we own you! T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this ideologies of the politicians they are backing. Because these companies are funding certain politicians because those politicians support things like lower taxes and reduced regulations. The fact that those same politicians also support anti-abortion legislation is true and important, but also completely irrelevant to Amazon and Google. Amazon and Google don’t support anti-abortion, they simply don’t care about it, which isn’t good per se but it’s a meaningful distinction. You might say it’s irrelevant to Amazon and Google, but the purpose of the article is to show that anti-abortion politicians are being funded, perhaps unknowingly, by these companies. ”Companies need to know where their money is ending up,” said Bruce Freed, the president of the CPA. “This should be a lesson – a lesson that they should have taken a while ago but that frankly is driven home right now with what has been happening in North Carolina.” Several of the companies, including Intuit and Bank of America, made statements last year offering to cover healthcare costs for employees who needed to travel out of state for medical procedures, in some cases explicitly mentioning abortion as an example. Google sent an email to employees acknowledging that Roe v Wade had been overturned and informed them about options for relocating to Google offices in different states.
