It can actually be a nice little getaway with a partner. I’m not going to rpetend to understand the psychology at play (new exciting circumstances make it novel? Knowledge tht we can make a ‘mess’ and not have to worry about cleaning afterwards? women just REALLY like throw pillows and thick duvets that much? I ahve no clue). But its happened enough to me, and to al my guy friends that I suspect its not just coincidence/anecdote. But we all know that if we stay in a hotel, MUCH higher odds of some bedroom action vs a night at home. So sometimes I’ll add a stay at a hotel to our evening plans even when its completely uneccesary. Get a hotel room at the nice hotel on the beach after dinner, despite us living a whole 8 mionutes drive away, that sort of thing.
