Their whole “challenge” and “overcoming obstacles” schtick is just a cover. The devs are just a bunch of trolling assholes. Openworld is honestly a doomed genre when even Fromsoft has to do a lot of reused ‘filler’ content rather than the density of all other souls games. I think the game industry just isnt ready for producing openworlds yet, Fromsofts attempt was valiant and among the best, but it conceptually openworlds just dilutes content and makes things way harder to balance Thats why I really dont want to see another Fromsoft openworld, and definitely not an Elden Ring 2, though I would like to see a DLC. Elden Rings issues wouldnt be fixed by a sequel, thats why I’d rather see them do more games like Sekiro and Bloodborne moving forward, which are more tight knit experiences which explore wilder ideas.

The game would be better with less leveling. 25 weapon upgrades is just too much. I don’t like winning a fight because my numbers got too big, or losing a fight because my numbers are too small to allow anything short of perfection. It sucks that Dragon Hearts are only ever used to gain Faith based spells. It makes killing dragons completely unrewarding for any other build. Ranni is lame. I like her questline (and all of the areas that introduced during it) but she’s just so boring compared to characters like Miquella, Godwyn, Morgott, Malenia, etc. I love the game, its worse the ds3, ds1 and sekiro havent played the others, the balancing is really awful, the bosses feel unfair, the best boss was godrick which is good since its soo fun but its really earlier and no other boss really feels the same apart from margit. I believe it would be better smaller, I am not a fan of open worlds that much even Zelda, I want to explore but in elden ring exploring means either getting too strong or getting fucked in a wayy too difficult area. Also community cant decide whether they dislike broken items and summons, yes I know it isnt one person, but I swear one person will be like they can use mimic its fine, but if you use river of blood you arent playing the game, or sleep potions or whatever.
