Whoa whoa, your last sentence. This is not on you. Her expectations are unreasonable. If you’ve discussed in depth with her 575k and she knows there’s a budget, then what she’s sending you is unrealistic and not helpful for either of you. She’s getting her hopes up and will be continuously disappointed and this takes away from actually looking and making decisions. What if the Best it’s Ok To Be Different Autism Awareness Bigfoot T-Shirt Besides,I will do this next time she sends you something way outside the budget, when she inevitably asks if you looked at the listing you calmly and nicely tell her no you didn’t. Because as she knows this is way out of your budget so you really didn’t think she was too serious. Let them dream but hold hard to budget. Say things like; that’s a nice home what do you like best about it? Then your family can start to identify features they are attracted to or value. When you find a home in your budget giving the wife bad vibes say things like – remember that villa you liked? This house has the same counters! Or remember how you liked that pool buying this home would allow us enough wiggle room to install one! The other thing I would say is when I bought my home I was able to go slightly up on my price because I negotiated for the previous owners to throw in the appliances. There may be ways at times you can wiggle a bit without a large compromise. BUT trust me home ownership is expensive don’t live beyond your means- you have a healthy budget for very nice family homes in most regions.

its crazy how out of touch the Best it’s Ok To Be Different Autism Awareness Bigfoot T-Shirt Besides,I will do this older generation is. idk why they think the first house we are able to buy should be in the millions. Focus on what you can afford now because what may not be good enough today may not be affordable tomorrow if prices go up or interest rates change. Perfectly reasonable to be frustrated, you are completely valid in wanting to live within your means. Don’t let the fact they’re indoctrinated by social media and “the American dream” stop you from living your best life with the family you’re building. That’s kind of hilarious to me bc I can’t even afford 300k and when I look at 250k it’s all condominiums and I want to die. So. Just tell her to stop wasting both of your time
