That book –  “Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the Benjamin Franklin Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this First Lady” – has been written by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a former public relations manager at Vogue, and the first director of special events at the magazine, which included a decade of overseeing the Met Gala. Over the course of those Vogue/Met Gala years, and over intimate lunches at places like the Mark and Michael’s, Wolkoff became close to the former Melania Knauss, first when she was the Slovenian-born girlfriend and then fiancée of the New York real estate developer, then as the wife of the putative billionaire and reality TV star, and finally as the spouse of the newly elected president and the country’s 42nd first lady, fighting against a White House staff and (as Wolkoff tells it) an ambitious stepdaughter eager to marginalize and sideline her.

Benjamin Franklin Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Though press reports have promised another explosive tell-all, like the Benjamin Franklin Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this ones John Bolton and Mary Trump just published, with secret recordings of Melania disparaging her husband and his three adult children, the book doesn’t land any real punches on the president and surprisingly describes the marriage as one of equals, not the transactional relationship that it has often been portrayed as. (“When Donald gets flustered – you can tell because his face goes from tempered orange to bright red – all he has to do is look at her and he settles down.”)

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
