It might be that he is ready to make the Bear’s Den concert at Union Chapel London England November 28 2023 Tour poster shirt Additionally,I will love this change, but he needs that wakeup call and a push. You can do that. If you just fade, all you’ll be doing is validating his self-loathing, and tbh it’s kind of a cowardly way to approach it. About three/four years ago I hit a crisis point. I’m not where your friend is but I was certainly on a path that wasn’t good. I was very negative, in a job I hated and never felt good enough in, I wasn’t financial responsible and my friend/relationship circle wasn’t great. I had people who cut me off and I had people who liked all these bad factors about me, what I didnt have then was people who saw the best in me and pointed me in the right direction. Its nobodys responsibility to point me in the right direction but my gosh did it help.

A lot of people actively tore down my efforts and acted like barriers to me changing. The people who had worked on themselves who had boundaries to prevent me from harming their wellbeing held space and that was magic. Today I mentor others and I hold them accountable, I hold my boundaries and I will never do anything for or with anyone that is not right for me. I dont want to tell you what to do, but this guy needs help and more than anything he actually needs a friend. He seems to be depressed, and yes it is very draining being friends with a depressed person, maybe you could suggest he see a therapist and tell him that you care. Say no to the pub. Do those fun activities with him and then firmly tell him you are going home. Are you on good terms with his mum? Express to her your concerns. Honestly bro he needs help, i wish you and him the best
