Right?! I do not trust basic everyday shit that needs apps or WiFi. Did the Be Strong Be Brave Be Humble Be Badass Everyday shirt and by the same token and smart bulbs a few years ago and while it was novel and fun at first, it got old real quick. Always disconnecting, google not knowing what light I was talking about, was the switch up or down….a mess! I had smart switches in my last place and I really liked it. Had motion sensors, voice controls, automations. It was nice I have a few automations with mine, they automatically turn on when I need to get up for work with my alarm during the week and turn off at a specific hour so if you fall asleep with them dimmed they’ll turn off. I use the smart bulbs so that I can dim the lights and still use the ceiling fan (and not have to run an extra wire to do that manually)

Ding ding ding. I have a single switch in my office, and I am too lazy to add one. I have a smart switch and smart bulbs, which allows me to turn the Be Strong Be Brave Be Humble Be Badass Everyday shirt and by the same token and fan on and the bulbs off without getting out of my chair to pull the string. Having a stream deck setup with a bunch of controls has made my life quite nice. My God I need a stream deck. You just described my exact use of smart bulbs, but I really hate having to find my phone just to turn the lights off The one smart bulb I use works about 95% of the time, it’s really nice being able to dim then turn off the red light from my phone when getting my toddler down for bed. Or if she wakes up screaming at 3am, push one button on my home screen to turn on the dim light while I’m on my way to her room. If I didn’t have a kid I wouldn’t have a practical use. I’m fully convinced my house is haunted and my room is at the end of a very long and dark hallway. It’s nice to be able to turn on the lights to my room before I even enter my hallway.
