The COVID-19 pandemic brought the 2020 basketball season to an abrupt halt, leaving fans and players alike devastated. The NBA suspended its season indefinitely in March, while the NCAA Tournament, one of the most highly anticipated events in the sports calendar, was canceled altogether. As a result, arenas that were once filled with the roar of the crowd stood eerily empty, a stark reminder of the virus’s destructive force.

When the NBA eventually resumed its season, it did so under strict safety protocols that included mandatory face masks for all players and coaches during games. The sight of basketball stars wearing masks on the court was both surreal and symbolic, representing the extraordinary circumstances under which the season was being played. The “Basketball 2020 Face Mask: The One Where Corona Ruined Shirt” captures this iconic image, serving as a testament to the resilience and determination of athletes who persevered despite the challenges.
