It’s a really scummy practice, done by pretty much every corporation This reminds me of a certain sandwich chain who always asks if I want to ‘Round up for the firefighters ‘ – I never know what this actually means or if the employees actually know or would tell me if they did. But I assume it’s either 1) a contribution on behalf of the company that they use as a tax write off or 2) goes into the employees pockets (I guess maybe in their company speak firefighters could mean the people making sandwiches) . This question has bothered me for over a decade and I would love any insight if anybody knows.
