The opposite happened in my friend group. I became the designated teacher and we had to rotate friends through cause we taught so many people. Worked well though as it gave us new competitors. if the fucking piece of shit robber didn’t exist i would love it. i hate that game mechanic so much i’ve sworn to never play catan again even though i like everything else about it. Agreed. In theory it should penalize the player who is furthest ahead, but too often it ends up living on the ONE good space the player with the weakest board setup has, just because they happen to have built near the frontrunner at the start of the game.

My high schools library was ordering some games so I put in a request last week for Catan. Came today and I enjoyed playing a game with my friends. Best board game ever. I dont know if my additions to the game were balanced or useful but I always enjoyed making games or expanding on existing ones.
