Plus Trump’s campaign was already planning the Baseball in San Francisco 1958-2023 shirt moreover I will buy this merch with the mugshot. They’re comparing him to Jesus and the mugshot only plays into that. He’s alleged to have paid off Stormy Daniels, another woman who claimed to have slept with him and also a doorman who claimed to have proof that Trump had a child out of wedlock. None of that is illegal in and of itself. However, Trump is accused of hiding these payments by falsifying business records so they looked like payments for legal services. That’s a criminal offense in New York – hence the charges. FURTHERMORE, the NY DA has used those illegalities to raise a charge of conspiracy to defraud voters (or whatever the exact name of the charge is in NY).

That’s not the Baseball in San Francisco 1958-2023 shirt moreover I will buy this crime, it’s using campaign money to pay her (rather than his own money) and then trying to cover that up. Its illegal to use money raised for his presidential election campaign to hush a stripper… Thats what they got him on initially. What the MAGA dummies fail to understand that he paid hush money many times in his life before. Let’s hope the doesn’t get away with it this time. Well, having spent a bunch of time looking at this today from multiple angles, I don’t think it’s going anywhere. Bragg said the felony comes from using this to hide other crimes. Otherwise, it’s a misdemeanor. However, when pressed he can’t say what the other crimes were. The other crimes are related to campaign finance laws which are outside the jurisdiction of the NY DA (because they are federal crimes). NPR explained how it would be a challenge to argue felony charges. They also mentioned that he was running for a federal office so state campaign finance laws would be a stretch to use against him. Both political sides will claim victory for this, while everyone will continue to get fucked economically, socially, morally. This is just a shiny object to distract the public. Trump will be facing charges in D.C. and Georgia shortly. I’m sure people will see this appears to be a pattern with him and factor that in.
