Nurses can’t walk out on a surgery when the strike clock hits (nor would they). Don’t endanger life or property, do endanger profits and cash flow. Keep the scabs at bay, too. Play the game and play to win. It makes sense to me. You can go on strike all you want but if you cause damage to company property then you should have to pay for it. If anyone actually read the article it said that the case was about a concrete company where workers started their day but then went on strike after filling the trucks. The concrete started to dry inside the equipment and damage was caused and concrete was wasted. You can be disruptive to a company all you want but if you intentionally damage property then I don’t see why you shouldn’t pay. It’s also important to point out that “Eight of the nine Supreme Court justices voted in favor of the company” so they all pretty much agreed.

655 more repliesVery pro-union, probably one of the Bartender the hardest part of my job is being nice to people shirt and by the same token and only people in this thread that has been on strike for over a month as part of union action, I was the union lead for my department and I run the union orientation for new people. All of that being said, it’s super obvious most people in this thread have no idea what they’re talking about and haven’t even done the bare minimum of reading this article. I mean, I know that’s stereotypical redditor behavior, but, like, seriously people? This article states it was a Concrete Company who lost money because workers left in the middle of a shift with “valuable” product being wasted. I say valuable in quotes because its concrete… But think about if certain workers organized a strike to happen right after starting a dangerous procedure that requires overwatch to ensure safety.. Suddenly Jimmy is all alone and can’t handle the workload and the coal furnace explodes and kills him. An extreme analogy but it shouldn’t be the company’s fault, rather the people who left him there. A more appropriate one would be a Paps Johns Pizzas worker “going on strike” right after getting overwhelmed with orders and leaving an oven full of pizza to burn. Could come out of the franchise owners own pocket and that would kind of suck.
