The wife used to work in a business supporting the Banshee Circle Logo Warframe shirt and by the same token and marine pleasure craft industry. The yes men will still simp for you, everyone will still go crazy to be near you. People will still treat you like a god even wearing a shirt with a hole in it. I see this a lot where I live. There’s a huge difference between “prudently invested” wealthy and “$800k in debt” wealthy. “New rich” are the ones trying to show off. “Old rich” doesn’t have to show anything, they just live their lives not caring what others think about them.

The vast majority of somewhat wealthy also don’t dress flashy. I grew up pretty privileged and I know a lot of millionaires, not mega millionaires with international real estate and servants but just regular successful small business owners. Out of about 30 of them, 29 will maybe wear a nice watch and then normal clothes from Macys. Only one dresses flashy with obvious designer clothes. As PewDiePie said, once you can afford whatever you want, buying stuff is no longer exciting. Being flashy isn’t exciting once it means nothing to you. No need to impress others? I went to HS with uber wealthy kids. Their MO is to appear as poor as possible which proves to be impossible when you’re sporting a tan after Christmas vacation in the NE. Or returning from Summer break Sophomore year with a brand spanking new 👃🏽nose. Shit like that.
