What is the Banacek Kojak shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this extra work? I had a boss who acted like a normal person so much that I never knew he was my boss. I aspire to that level of chill at all times. Do not do it. I have been there and it ended up with me learning the job on my own and then a new person being hired and me training them. Never getting more money. Usually I’d say this all seems pretty normal to me. If you trust management at the company, a trial period shouldn’t be an issue. Think of it as an apprenticeship for a higher position. If you don’t trust them, then if they don’t do what they say and don’t give you the title and compensation they are promising in, say, three months, then you should just start looking for another job at that time, though at your new level of responsibility.

Banacek Kojak shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

My advice as a boss. Why would I give you a job if I thought you weren’t capable? If there’s a new higher position being offered then it should always include an increase in salary. If it turns out they made a mistake and you’re shit at it then they remove/demote/sack you whatever. At some unknown time, after meeting some unknown metric, based on some unknown job performance, you may or may not get some unknown raise. Sounds like a really great deal. You really can’t protect yourself here by agreeing to their proposal. This is bush league on their part and abusive, IMO. You can take the Banacek Kojak shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this risk and see if they follow through. But, really, why would they? You’ll be doing more for the same compensation. They win. And there will always be an excuse why the situation needs to continue for longer until their sure. If I were in this situation, I’d thank them for the opportunity, decline the offer, and start looking for another job in an organization with better leadership.
