Because they’re basically “mutts” so they’re a mix of a bunch of stuff so since they’re so many things at once they don’t follow one so they’re just “American” whereas for example in my family all 4 of my grandparents are Greek and 3 were born there so my family directly traces our roots somewhere whereas my dads friend is like Irish Italian British etc all mixed together so he doesn’t really have one particular culture. Whatever, wherever or whomever has tried to convince you of this is toxic and you need to run. you are likely being indoctrinated by some very self serving people. This question is general and full of assumptions that are not true or so general as to be completely useless for a meaningful discussion.

I am of south east asian decent and I love some white traditions. I was born in Hong Kong, but grew up in Dallas. My culture is country/western, I’ve competed in reining/rodeo my entire life. I have countless peers who are Latino, black, of various types of Asian descent, and more. Here in Europe people tend to make fun of Americans for having no culture, but it is not linked to skin colour in any way. Some Europeans live in houses that are older than the united states of America and it tends to blow the Americans mind that this is possible. The main reason for that (to my understanding) is that there is not really any recorded history from the times before European settlers (invaders) arrived. And the native Americans in northern America also did not leave any (at least not many) structures such as buildings behind. It’s different in south and middle America where the advanced civilizations of the Americas resided, also the population there mostly mixed with Europeans (e.g. in Colombia) instead of being replaced.

I do not agree about making fun of people for “having no culture”, I am just trying to explain where this sentiment comes from among some Europeans. I hope it helped. It just is everyth8ing we do from pledge of allegiance at 7am in school, to the president addressing the entire world right from your dinning room at night.
