Unless you’ve not been to Athens, istanbul, Rome, Paris, Bangkok, Barcelona, Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles /Hollywood… The heckling part is a relic from a previous times, its quite less now as vietnam has now become a upper middle country. For heckling straight up saying no in vietnamese, and i was asked a lot even some ladies grabbed my hand but i politely asked them to give me items for free as i have no cash. In the famous streets on saigon i encountered strong heckling in all of vietnam, so you can go there to be battle tested I love Da Nang, the beach is endlessly long and really nice. I go to the beach every day to exercise, it’s full of activity with others running, doing calisthenics, playing volleyball, football, badminton, dancing, surfing/swimming, or just eating/relaxing/drinking. I’ve never been scammed there. If someone comes up to sell you something, and you don’t want it, you just wave them away. I didn’t get scammed anywhere else except hanoi. The last time I went to hanoi I got scammed so badly that I haven’t been back in over a decade. Da nang is chilled and every person I met in Vietnam has been super lovely. Obviously you have to be a little bit smart and watch out for obvious scams but seriously… it’s a very easy country for tourists. Yes people are going to ask you to come sit at their restaurant or buy the crap they’re selling on the street but just put yourself in their shoes for a minute. Like come on, they are just trying to get by. Just say no thank you and continue on???? Don’t get your undies knotted up over it

every city will have their own bad people that’s for sure. can’t say if u should cancel your Da Nang visit, but i do think that staying for one whole month anywhere could easily gets boring. best way to avoid scams is to stay away from small businesses as a whole… Bro wouldn’t survive a day in NYC, don’t even look at these sellers and keep walking with a blank face, damn homie you need 2 weeks in Brooklyn lol You should definitely go to Danang. It’s very chill compared to hcmc. I’ve never been to Hanoi thought but I don’t hear good things about it from my wife. Hanoi is the Awesome tummy Ache Veteran shirt But I will love this worst scammy place in Vietnam brother. Particularly the Old Quarter. You see some of that in HCMC but not nearly as much.
