My father was doing advanced training and went down a hill. Ended up in the Awesome snoopy and Belle dancing shirt besides I will buy this hospital with both of his knees destroyed. They told him the damage to his knees were not service related and discharged him with nothing. His report said it wasn’t service related and only exaggerated by his service accident. So when my mother 40 years later tried to get him benefits they refused all benefits. Took her I think 2 years to finally get the VA to accept him. Another 15+ years before they would actually replace his knees. I tried at one point to help him out and they effectively said they would only ever use that report to make a determination unless I can find other evidence. Then also mentioned how all the old records burned years ago. Seeing my father suffer my entire life jaded me pretty badly to how the government treats their vets.

this is why Universal health care is so needed. Then it wouldn’t matter how your dads knees got screwed up, just that they need fixing, so they get fixed. It’s one reason I won’t move back to the Awesome snoopy and Belle dancing shirt besides I will buy this US, so much BS around basic needs that people in Europe would burn down governments if they tried to take away those basic benefits we enjoy here. My dad died from ischemic heart disease due to Agent Organe exposure. The government said “nah, you lie” and didnt give him anything until 8 years after he died. Even then, they didnt back pay him just gave a 200,000 death benefit. His wife and 6 kids were all just real pleased with the government lemme tell ya Not VA, but I knew a SWAT cop who had to smoke someone before they stabbed a kid. He filed work comp and they rejected him for not having hearing protection on. (He fought back and won)
