Don’t worry about the miserable old fuck, he’ll have that boner for weeks telling everyone how he had to do the barmans job. Tried to join one when I moved to a new town, told I needed to be recommended by two members. Asked how I would meet these members, ‘At the club’ was the response. Haven’t been back. Social Clubs have loads of old arseholes who get pissy over a non member coming in or if someone is sitting in ‘their’ seat We used to go to a social club quite regularly as non members. Other members used to sign us in. The staff couldn’t care less. The secretary couldn’t care less. Then one day a woman came in and insisted we all pay up (£10 for a year) right there and then or she’d boot us out. To this day I’ve no idea who she was (we went twice a week so knew a lot of the members) so it is entirely possible some woman just went in and defrauded us all of £10 and made a tidy sum that day. Short story, no you didn’t do anything wrong lol it should of been on the bar staff to ask if you were a member, you should of told the old bloke that the bar staff didn’t ask if you were so you had no idea, how you’d been in before for events etc

Long story, the Awesome mark Williams American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets T-Shirt But I will love this club I work in is members only (not a social club, a snooker club) but we do allow non members to try us out before forking out for membership, but it’s family run, no committee or anything. I tend to find clubs run by a committee of old men, the old men are arseholes on a power trip . Non members can use our tables (work men who are only in the area for a week, people visiting family etc) but we only allow members to book tables. Main reason is, it’s a perk of being a member, another reason is that it’s bloody expensive to repair tables. If you had ripped the cloth, they’d have no idea who you were or who to send the bill to etc I’m curious as to the condition of the tables cos 20p for 20mins is very very cheap, ours are £1 for 20mins but are very well kept. Brushed and maintained 3 times a week. Spent over 3k in September recovering some, stretching the cloth on some, replacing cushions etc. Our match table is £1 for about 15 mins but that’s our top bollock table, the cloth is one down from the cloth at the crucible hence higher maintenance costs
