At the Awesome KoA T-shirt in contrast I will get this time of our Zoom meeting, only a few weeks had passed since Erickson’s initial cold-call. The process of bringing her onto the team was quick and painless, not at all “transactional” like sponsorships and ambassadorships tend to be. “When I first talked to Sage, I was skeptical,” adds Outerknown CEO Mark Walker. “I expected this to just be another one of those conversations about paying ‘X amount’ to wear our stuff, and you’ll do three appearances a year, and that’s the relationship. But this was very different. Sage lives and breathes this idea of what Outerknown is, which is about travel and the planet and sustainability, and her vibe was a match, too.”

They’ve made me feel like my voice matters, and to be honored in that way has been really different.”
