So, the Awesome detroit Lions 2023 One Pride Nfc North Division Champions shirt Apart from…,I will love this original Trump campaign positioned him as someone who was well-known, generally liked, appealed to voters who felt unwanted by mainstream Republican candidates, and said the things those voters liked to hear about stuff like immigration. Again, populism. With all that going, people were willing to give him a try. Add in his attacks on Hillary Clinton over having some e-mails around, and the October surprise by FBI director James Comey that kept “Clinton e-mails” as a current topic, and Trump won…but only through the electoral college. Trump lost in 2020 for a few reasons. First, he’d been impeached. He talked down to veterans at times, like the way he dismissed former President candidate and still-Senator John McCain as a loser in 2015. His handling of the pandemic wasn’t very effective, and his suggestion that we might postpone the elections because of it actually got some conservatives upset. And people had years of a Trump presidency to review and judge, so things like playing golf a lot, and using a marker to change the anticipated path of a hurricane, didn’t necessarily come across well.

But, look at what he did after he lost the Awesome detroit Lions 2023 One Pride Nfc North Division Champions shirt Apart from…,I will love this 2020 election. He created the story that the election was stolen from him, that he actually won — recently, he’s claimed he won in all 50 states — and Biden lost, and he rallied his supports to that idea, and that the only fix was to get Congress to do the right thing and make him President when they counted electoral votes. This led to an armed insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6th, 2021. In other words, Trump marshalled his supporters and got them to engage in political violence on his behalf. That’s a strong belief system, no matter how flawed the premise might be. Even though Trump supporters have died from the pandemic, or had spouses deported, they haven’t gone away. In many cases, there’s increasing support for the notion that Trump is the savior — if not of the US, then possibly for the human race — because there have been attempts to cast him as “walking with Jesus” or being “anointed” to save the world. Trump was never known for his piety, but he was more than willing to connect with faith leaders who supported him, and he did deliver in his Supreme Court nominations. Trump-endorsed candidates do better in primaries than in the general election. And Democrats, and Democrat-supported issues, seem to be doing better than expected; just look at last night’s results in the US.
