That’s an interesting viewpoint I haven’t heard before. Specifically, the Avenged sevenfold poster july and aug tour 2023 poster shirt and I love this part where the bible is written in a way that appeals the most to the audience. I always interpreted it in a less deliberate way. People are a product of their time and as such worldviews and teachings change organically. That’s also why I think scriptures must always be understood with regards to their historical context. So the Bible is full of stories that people of today have a really hard time to connect with? I guess even christians don’t agree among themselves whats the message behind most passages. There are three different classes of Bibles. Protestant Bibles, Catholic Bibles, and Orthodox Bibles include and exclude different books from one another. There isn’t even consistency amoungth the major branches on what Christians books should be part of the Bible. And obviously how each sect interprets the books varies even further. I assume you’re from the US? Many of the arguments like Megachurches, taking everything from the Bible as 100% literal and other things are mostly an American thing. Historically, that’s not strange. After all, the US were founded by fundamentalist Christians who never took proper root in Europe. I saddens me that people have so bad experiences with religion and others cause it. I hope that one day everyone can heal from their past and look further than “ew Atheist. Ew, religious person”. Stay safe.

Like everything in the Avenged sevenfold poster july and aug tour 2023 poster shirt and I love this world, not everyone will be on the same page. Often these come into sects, like the impression that I get from what you’ve said is that your family/community is mainly orthodox Christians. That’s a common sect in many major religions such as Judaism, Islam, and Christianity (it could be present in Hinduism, Buddhism and others however that doesn’t come to mind immediately). Often it is the case that the Church has adapted stories and occurrences to a more morals base point as they accept that very few of the stories can be directly translated to modern lives. Legit culminating in ‘what would Jesus do’ as you may have seen, more meaning, what can we take from him stories to live out in our lives.
