I feel more like my heads full of undirected chatter before I have my coffee. Sometimes in the evening when I just want to feel organized and okay on especially scattered days, I’ll have a little coffee in the evening :/ I’ve wondered about it before actually, but I didn’t realize this was common with some people with ADHD! All I see online is how over-diagnosed it is and that so many people think they have it when really they need to just do some work on learning to focus and setting boundaries with screen time and things like that. I also got pretty far in the academic world, so I figured I couldn’t actually have it Caffeine settles my brain. I have ADHD. I used to give our youngest son a Mountain Dew when he was too all over the place. Works great if you have ADHD. One of the things I learned is that caffeine works along the same pathways as stimulant based ADHD medication. So if you drink a cup of coffee and feel your mind quiet and focus after, that might be why.

So coffee is off the menu. Coffee addiction is being added to the new DSM and I do NOT want to have it. I also love my phone, but less phone means more boredom and easier to sleep.
