It’s not that we’re paid well being in hospitality management, it’s that everyone else is criminally underpaid. I would describe management pay as a “meagerly above average.” The sad fact of the Atlanta Braves baby mascot shirt moreover I will buy this matter is that most people don’t view hospitality work in general as a specialized skill, so they don’t pay as such. To the owners, our skills aren’t equal to that of the construction contractor who built the restaurant for them, or the real estate developer they paid for the land, our skills are nonexistent in their minds because it’s unfathomable for them to think that a job that is “a kids job” or a “just starting out in college job” (as I’ve heard many boomers describe it) is worth a living wage.

I’ll say this, for someone who’s done a lot of labor intensive shit in their life (weightlifting, running, boxing, jump roping, biking, you name it) working jobs in hospitality left me more exhausted than anything else. If you had to serve drinks to Karen’s all night who refuse to tip you because her steak was “not how she likes it done” then you’d smoke some relief too.Exactly. Nothing would be different, your day is exactly the same. Because the existence of other people minding their own business has. Nothing. To. Do. With. You. Yes but did you CONSIDER they were FORCED by WOKE CORPORATIONS to see RAINBOWS? There has not been a GREATER evil forced on MANkind than rainbows! I’ve had that conversation with people online. It generally devolves quickly into them just writing nonsensical shit. They are uncomfortable with trying to understand things that they haven’t been exposed to for a good chunk of their lives and feel like they are being challenged to accept something they would rather refuse to even think about. There’s zero logic in it whatsoever, but they don’t care. All that matters to them are how it impacts their own personal feelings, and to them, that’s the fault of the rest of the world.
