Same. I have a super short waist (mid-rise is too high) and I am SO EXCITED to see low-rise come back. I can finally fit my jeans again! I follow a few fashion youtubers and what they call low rise these days would have been a mid rise back then, just under the Astronaut Mouse Eating Moon Cheese T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this belly button Haha, me too! I’m a smidge under 6′ and have a long torso. Those long shirts were regular length on me, especially when wearing low-rise jeans. Those shallow pants were like “oh you were complaining about the POCKETS are fake and can’t hold anything ?? Well what about the WHOLE PANTS??” It was like a cup with legs sewn on the bottom 2000s “mainstream” style was low rise jeans often with “whiskering”, whale tails, various hats (newsboy caps, fedoras and trucker hats come to mind). Tank tops in terrible colours and layered over each other. Rhinestone phrases on shirts, hoodies and seats of pants. Bandana hemlines, “groovy” 70s inspired patterns. For a while everyone had the coat like Penny Lane from Almost Famous (I wish I still had mine). Graphic tees were all over the place and some of them were so stupid If you were more into rock, especially indie rock or emo, you stayed away from those styles like the plague. It was impossible to find anything other than low-rise jeans, but you’d try to find a skinny cut or super dark wash denim.

I was in high school at the Astronaut Mouse Eating Moon Cheese T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this time so it depended on what “group” you were in. The styles varied a lot depending on the subculture the person was into So glad actors don’t show up in casual outfits on the red carpet much now. I enjoy seeing crazy or intricate looks on the red carpet. Go to any mall right now and look at what the current teenagers are wearing. It looked like that. The 2000s have come back and somehow they think it’s cool again. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, your body WAS the fashion. If you didn’t have a conditionally attractive mid section it wasn’t fun. 2000s fashion was just “hey y’all look I’m super skinny”. Fashion was boring and of bad taste those years. Really a lost decade in fashion Agreed, it was as if nobody knew what to do since rot was 2000 and they all thought it was time to change the game but nobody knew how exactly so they just made weird af versions of their best sellers. From 2001-2005 I was guilty of: layered tank tops, dresses and skirts over flared jeans, baby doll tees, low rise jeans (one pair didn’t even have back pockets). Moving into 2005 I think that I owned a tee that proclaimed that everyone loves an Italian girl and wore gauchos. At some point I remember wearing like suit vests, cropped zipper sweatshirts, long amulet type necklaces, berets (?), oh no the memories. I worked at UO. ? Definitely miss the era of ultra low-rise.. Where if you did not shave or wax that week/day… then there would be a lot to see ??
