People are not entitled to want a living wage for their labor. But also, raising minimum wage won’t help anything… min wage job is low skill & low value, you don’t fix the problem by overpaying for it. You need to find ways to motivate min wage workers to get more skill and be of more value so that they can earn more money. Except someone always needs to work the “low value” jobs, and if can’t only be students, since there’s a limited supply of them and they can’t work during school hours, which is when most businesses like to be open.

It’s just what that employer tells you so that you don’t ask questions. The problem with minimum wage is grown ass adults thinking they should be worried about minimum wage when they should be making at least 2 to 3 times that much by this time in their lives. Minimum wage was, and is, intended for those just starting out in the workforce not people who have been working for years. Higher minimum wage pushes all other salaries up. That’s why grown ass adults care about it. Also because grown ass adults are having kids who will one day be making minimum wage and they want better for them. Heres my take and it seems a little underrated. I agree minimum wage needs to go up, BUT I dont think it needs to be 15 everywhere. In states like California, Washington, California or whereever else where the cost of living is high I agree they should raise it to 15 dollars. Now me a guy who has lived in the midwest (Nebraska and Iowa) I can say that 15 an hour is more than I need. Would it be nice? Of course but it isnt needed to live, which is what minimum wage is. It isnt for so you can be paid enough to buy Starbucks everyday or go get fast food every day for dinner. If you arent throwing your money around you can get apartments for 600-700 dollars and espeically if you share it with someone you can afford it easily.
