It is however… virtue signalling. Corporation X is aligning it’s brand with Charity Y at no cost to themselves and I find that repugnant. In a perfect world it would be something like “if you donate a minimum of 5% of your purchase price we will also donate 5% of your purchase price”. Or…just ignore it if you don’t / can’t give and allow those who can, to do so. Why do you care? I generally give 3-5 bucks because it makes me feel good and I can. I will always round up my total for charity at McDonald’s, the Art of ferris bueller’s day off shirt Furthermore, I will do this McDonald house does some amazing work for sick kids, I may not like kids but I don’t wish death on them. I’m just here to see people repeat the stupid myth that grocery stores get to claim your donation as their own for tax purposes. I mean, it’s a lot of money to throw away but, if you don’t want to do it, you don’t really have to. This is the case for the billionaires and the politicians on both sides. The corporation donating and you donating have nothing to do with each other. The grocery store isn’t receiving your money… The charity is… If it gets more people to donate more frequently in manageable amounts then it’s a good thing I get so sick of being asked to donate at drive thru, grocery stores and other retailers. I just say, “not today”.

Donating is donating. It doesn’t matter if the Art of ferris bueller’s day off shirt Furthermore, I will do this medium is a billion dollar corporation. You’re either generous or your not. It means more when people with less still have a generous heart. Charities love that grocery stores do this. It’s often their biggest source of donations, and it costs them nothing to fundraise this way. Dafuq? Where do you live? I get a self checkout thing that asks me for 8 cents to round up to the nearest dollar to combat child cancer. I do it. Happily. I have never seen a coupon for potatoes. On the planet. Edit: I’ve never been to North Korea or several countries in Africa. Also not Norway. They may have coupons for potatoes there. I don’t know I have similar thoughts about medical charities. Are we supposed to believe hospital bills are too low, and we need to go out of our way to give them more?? And they are also throwing out anything that is a day past exp date instead of giving it away(I know they donate some to food banks) You know how many people would go out of their way to use coupons if the money went towards child hunger? Cause I am bad at statistics I assume people just don’t understand how this works. A 100 billion dollar company NEVER has anything even remotely close to that in cash. If they fired everyone and liquidated literally everything, they would.
