My biggest complaint about Reddit is that there seems to be some sort of hive-mind that isn’t capable of extensive thought outside of their own little bubble. So seeing that mould be broken, even just on one post, is pretty nice. The echo chamber is real. Many cant comprehend someone else have a different world view based on their own opinions and experiences. They dont even realize theyve become these online lynch mobs. Complete with othering and tribalism. The sane people are generally in little nich groups talking about activities that arent political or cant be politicized. I see a bunch of comments on some threads that sound just like Facebook right wing ramblings but just the Arrested Development Full Throwback Cast Tribute Shirt and by the same token and names and parties are flipped. And reddit hates when you point this out

I remember during the Arrested Development Full Throwback Cast Tribute Shirt and by the same token and fbi investigations into Trump, some left leaning people were preaching about how trustworthy the FBI is. Meanwhile we’re drone strike executing people without trials but we wont call out their parties because it might hurt them in the next election. Redditors claim to hate the sexualisation of women while defending pornography that creates stigmas like the one you mention. it’s not the pornography that creates these stigmas, it’s the association of goth with fetish attire. most porn is not softcore anymore so people have disgustingly normalised hardcore porn. You’d be surprised how many people on Reddit genuinely believe this, it’s almost frightening how retarded you have to be to think that. I’ve also heard a lot of “America has no culture.” I mean, yeah, we have an amalgamation between a lot of immigrant cultures, but that’s what makes us unique. That doesn’t mean that the blues belongs to Africa or whatever weird shit y’all are trying to claim. It’s also kind of a “does a fish know it’s wet?” situation. American culture is everywhere and is easily the most prevalent and influential. It’s easy to not see something you are entrenched in. its mostly American teenagers, who never left the US (or if they did, they went to Amsterdam one time) who are just going along with the group-think trying to fit in.
