Edit: The first time he texted me, he texted me about work. But we don’t work for the Arizona Wildcats 2024 PAC 12 Tournament Champions Shirt but in fact I love this same company. So he was essentially texting about our field. I didn’t respond at first because I didn’t know who it was. It seemed so random, I assumed it was spam. When I didn’t respond in a day, he texted back saying who it was. I then texted my friend to confirm she had given him my number before I responded to him. When I asked her about it, she said “He asked for your number, so I gave it to him.” She didn’t seem to think it was strange in any way. Since then, I bring up every text exchange with her and with my husband. My husband has read every word of the texts. He agrees the content is not strange. We both simply find it out of our normal for a friend’s SO to be texting.

He may absolutely be trying to make friends with the Arizona Wildcats 2024 PAC 12 Tournament Champions Shirt but in fact I love this people she thinks are important. If that’s the case, I’m glad to get to know him. I am going to continue to be slightly guarded about this, as I still don’t think he has a “reason” to send any of the texts. Edit 2: He is 28-29. Not totally sure. I’ve met him twice, both times in group settings with her. My husband has never met him. I have absolutely had similar situations. I’ve seen it dozens of times and have had men try with me before. Innocent texts can easily snowball, esp if one person (or both) have inappropriate intentions from the beginning. I know many friends who have had relationships and marriages ruined over what started as innocent texts.I don’t think it’s weird as long as the texts are appropriate. He probably knows that you mean a lot to his gf and wants you to like him/be friends. Maybe his family life is terrible and needs a stable person in his life too. Who knows? As long as he doesn’t get weird, text him back. I concur. You can absolutely be friends, it’s actually really nice that your friend’s partner is interested in actually getting to know her friends.
