As with all these things, you should pay (or rather the Arizona Cardinals Est 1920 National football League shirt and by the same token and manufacturer should pay and that would then be reflected in the price) for the harm that it does – same principle as VED being based on CO2 emissions. Realistically there’s probably no way to accurately calculate the harm, and we don’t have a means to mitigate the environmental harm from plastic grass anyway. There’s also the risk that, as with VED being based exclusively vehicle emissions, you miss something and perhaps incentivise a different harm, such as encouraging a switch to diesel and offsetting lots of the efficiency gains by allowing people to balance a budget around much larger cars. On balance a ban is the only practicable way to reduce the use of the stuff, but there should be a holistic approach to encourage consumers to make societally good choices rather than outright banning a few significant harms.

It was good for my husbands grandparents as they were elderly. But I agree it should be banned, it’s horrendously ironic and also bad for wildlife who may try to eat it and animals in hot weather. I’ll keep mine artificial thanks . Nothing but clay and weeds in winter / autumn. looked ok for a couple of weeks in spring . And a brown dead rock hard eye sore in summer. You’re ignorant if you think all fake grass looks hideous. You might want to come to America and visit some home improvement stores. We have really high quality fake grass that looks and works incredible. My cousin just bought and installed one of the Arizona Cardinals Est 1920 National football League shirt and by the same token and most expensive fake grass a person can buy. It looks amazing. I can just imagine the snobs wanting to ban it turning their nose up as they get in the range rover to fly off around the world.
