Another point to make….how do small channels get their name out there if not by commenting on other videos in their niche? Unless they pay for promotion, this is the Anthony Gill American basketball player for Washington Wizards T-Shirt moreover I love this only way within youtube, to start making connections. My final point is this, all engagement is good engagement for your channel. Barring, of course, true spam comments that are nefarious in nature, you should be excited that people are engaging in the comments of your videos. To all who say it is cringe…did you pay your way to the top or organically grow through interactions with others? It sounds like he was trying to talk with you about the game and your experiences with it IMO. Really it comes down to how he phrased it and if he did anything else to try and grab your viewers.

I wouldn’t have deleted it me personally. U kind of violated that guy. When I see someone make the Anthony Gill American basketball player for Washington Wizards T-Shirt moreover I love this same type of video I’m making, I have an urge to comment too, not for self promotion purposes, but just because it’s nice seeing people come at the same type of video you’ve made from different angles. Also people commenting drives up engagement, and therefore views, the more comments the better. I had a guy doing the same as me commenting on a few of my videos. I didn’t see anything wrong it – they were all positive comments. I only had one comment before this, which was just a thumbs up emoticon, so I’m not in a position to be deleting comments that say they like my content. Maybe it was subtle self-promotion; if it was, then it kinda worked ’cause I subbed back. Even if he is technically “the competition”, I think we both helped each other rather than hurt each other.
