There is no way in hell that any Republicans will vote to convict. Even if Kavenaugh was found with a dead girl, a live boy, several hamsters, $10M signed with a note “Love, Putin” and was halfway through an assassination plot against Trump. If the Ant man the hero shirt in addition I really love this Supreme Court is going to behave as a partisan political institution, then it needs to be treated as such. Justices should be elected by the people and have term limits like every other political branch of the government. If you’re going to be a Supreme Court judge, you shouldn’t get to have a political affiliation. If you have the power to change laws or overturn them, your political representation can easily sway that or bias your decision. Tbh it do be kinda crazy how someone who is only in charge for four to eight years can just put someone in a position to determine what laws mean for eternity. Like with advances in modern medicine I’m sure someone is being born right now who could ostensibly be a justice for 100 straight years. I’m not a constitutionologist, but that seems like a long time to have the same seven god-emperors.
