Recruiter could be lying about the Animal Wild The Muppets Show T-Shirt but in fact I love this company blacklisting you. Change recruiters if he didn’t sound like he was on your side I interview people regularly as part of my job. I can tell you, we have interviews need you reschedule all the time. It happens. No big deal I’m a senior engineer working for a tech company and I do a lot of technical interviews. I’ve probably interviewed over 1000 candidates over the course of my career. If you were in my interview list and you called in sick literally at the moment the interview was scheduled to kick off, this is what I would say to the recruiter. If any of our recruiters pulled this crap, I’d make sure they never worked for us again. Its not my companies values and I would not want a candidate treated this way. Shit happen, people get sick. You were correct to ask to reschedule. I for one would not hold it against any candidate where this happened assuming the candidate communicated what was up. The recruiter was wrong and may have their own agenda different from the companies, or the company sucks if this is what they want their recruiters to do. In the first case, if you are able you need to get past the recruiter to the actual company and let them know what the deal is. If they don’t deal with the recruiter they suck and you are best moving on and leaving this company behind. If they apologize and reschedule via a different recruiter then that will also tell you something about the company.

Would be fine to reschedule if you had reached out the Animal Wild The Muppets Show T-Shirt but in fact I love this morning of letting them know and it was later in the day for an emergency. Or really at any time if it’s a serious emergency. But know that that will never be looked at positively, and that you are weighing whatever that is over a job opportunity. Obviously your health comes first, but I’d never expect to get hired at a place where I’m rescheduling an interview day of for any reason. Personally speaking. Even given that though, the recruiter handled it completely unprofessionally. That person should honestly be fired for speaking that way to you at any good company. You could have said, “never mind, I don’t want to interview”, and it would still be uncalled for. Bullet dodged. If they claim that BS over a medical emergency, can you imagine what it would be like working for them?
