You have enough money to solve world hunger or homelessness, but those are temporary. New people will be homeless, new people will be starving. Getting a civilization on a new planet? That’s permanent. Getting civilization in an online world? That’s permanent. I’d have to think at a certain point tangible cash is relatively useless. Which of course they aren’t, they just handle data on their own servers now, they don’t need Facebook anymore. It’s a win in the fact that the public is generally aware of the shittyness of Facebook, but it’d a loss because people aren’t going to look at every other company as critically. Nothing is really getting better. TikTok is undeniably worse, and yet we’re eating that shit up on an unprecedented scale.
