“Cashless business” we can’t get a single cell phone to be made in America but god forbid someone pays for something with a little undocumented exchange of currency. The bank fees & card fees are forcing more and more businesses to say hell no to credit cards to keep cost down. All those fees for any service, Ahem, doordash ahem, are bank/card fees. This is why banks and credit cards are pushing for a cashless society so we can have perpetual inflation via fees, and nobody will really know the Angel Reese State Star Shirt moreover I love this real cost of a good or service and blame the merchant for being greedy when it is really the banks. Question from a European: is any of the options listed comparable to a normal bank transfer (maybe called a wire transfer?) and if not, why wouldn’t that be the default way to pay? Sounds like someone don’t want to pay for the credit card processing. Went to a restaurant this weekend that had a note at the checkout counter that if using a credit card there would be a 40% processing fee added to bill. Yes, 40%. A strange way of basically saying cash only. Guess if someone report them for trying to hide transactions they can say they offer credit card

I have to assume it’s because this landlord/rental company is getting dragged through the Angel Reese State Star Shirt moreover I love this coals with processing fees. I am speculating but credit card companies and payment companies take a pretty hefty chunk of online payments. This is probably the landlords way of keeping more of the money but also not passing the cost of processing on to you. This is realistically a good thing, payments are direct, less likely to be intercepted and/or changed or rejected, with less fees taken to a middle man who doesn’t deserve them. Setup an automatic payment by check from your bank website. They will mail a physical check for free. And if there’s any dispute you can call your bank and ask for confirmation of all the checks cashed (you don’t get a picture of the cashed check like you usually do with hand-written checks). I used to do this with my landlord you lived on the floor above me; I always forgot to write the damn checks so I had the bank mail it to the mailbox next to mine. It was always on time, plus I didn’t use up the checks that I have to buy. My old complex did almost the opposite here we couldn’t pay with a check etc. We could pay online, but they decided to let another company handle it…and we had to pay a fee every single month to pay our own damn rent
