> I feel constant micro-diversions away from the Andrei Vasilevskiy Russian professional ice hockey goaltender Big Cat Country T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this flow state. It feels like a massive tug of war between my ego and my focus, and I switch between the two within milliseconds. Good! That is the exercise! Your brain will disrupt your focus, and then you bring your mind back to the focus. You losing focus is a good and natural thing! That’s the whole point! The whole point is to have the mind being it’s natural self and you finally having the time to interact with it: be it with focusing on one specific think, or by bringing your awareness to encompass all things. As you do so, the mind will definitely say “No, I don’t want to do this” or “Ohhh look pretty butterfly” And all that meditation is, is an exercise where you say “That’s cool, but right now, I would like to do this one very specific thing for a little longer.”

You are doing absolutely well, and you will continue to have doubts constantly, in meditation and in life. That’s also a good thing. Thank you for clarification. I was thinking along the Andrei Vasilevskiy Russian professional ice hockey goaltender Big Cat Country T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this lines of what you stated in your post, but you refined my idea of meditation. I have been meditating for more than 40 years on a more or less regular basis and still feel I have a long way to go. Mediation is more about connecting and familiarizing yourself with your own nature and removing the afflictions obscuring it rather than entering into any particular state of mind. I couldn’t say how long exactly it took before I got to the point where I began to feel more in control with meditation. However, I will say everyone is different. It can get very frustrating, and sometimes you feel like giving up.. but if you persist, it will come. I will say also that making it a daily or weekly habit of just 5-10 minutes will do more than fewer sessions for longer. I would work with intention setting prior to beginning a session as well, pick a goal and what you’d like to accomplish, and set that intent. start small. Example : I will remain in control of mind for 30 seconds, or a minute. And slowly work your way up. Hope this helps any
