He didn’t call an ambulance and we were alone. I remember some things. Him freaking out, wrecking the house. I had to be calm and try to calm him down. I was in and out of consciousness the entire time. I calmly explained that he needed to call for help. When he did, he called him mom. This was hours later. No pain. Just weakness. The recovery was the hard part. In fact he really didn’t know what had hit him because the stray 9mm-bullet had gone clean through his nostril and logded itself in his cheek. Nothing to see besides swelling and bleeding from the nose. The bullet was only discovered by x-ray at the hospital he went to.

I was shot in my left leg – upper calf about 6 or 7 years ago with a .22. I was highly intoxicated and it didn’t hurt. Was walking around fine and very little blood.
