I’ve only been working out every day since march. I’m 42 and had the Amelia Could Fly So Fride Could Create So Maya Could Write So Ruth Could Dissent Shirt and I will buy this sudden realization that I either use it or lose it. I’m trying to put on muscle mass on my chest and arms, which just gets harder with age. So my motivation is to slowly beat the clock on that. Then there’s my fitness. I was embarrassed of my fitness levels on a 2 day ride with my older brother and a friend. Frankly I was holding them up, which was fine except I don’t want to be that guy. Now I do 3x 30minute cardio sessions a week that consist of mainly sprint training exercises. I want to up that to 40 minutes but I have covid this week which I’m gutted about. My motivation is to be the fittest I’ve ever been at 45. That shouldn’t be hard as I’m putting the work in, really enjoying it and feeling the benefits. Before March I consistently said and believed I didn’t have time to work out. Now I put work out before almost anything.

I listen to audio books while I do cardio and only when I do cardio, so if I want to hear what happens next, then I have to go to the Amelia Could Fly So Fride Could Create So Maya Could Write So Ruth Could Dissent Shirt and I will buy this gym. Then while i’m there, might as well do some strength training. I more exercise to be healthy. No real goals to makes gains or anything like that. Keeping the family healthy. My wife and I have a tendency to let our bodies slip occasionally which makes the activities we like to do miserable. Struggling on every climb mountain biking isn’t very much fun. So I exercise almost daily for this reason, but also to guilt/motivate my wife into staying in shape (I’m sure she does the same). We are in our early 40s, have a 3 and 1 year old, and want the kids to grow up with physically capable parents.
