Before you vote for anyone in November, ask them what their position is on a constitutional amendment protecting abortion. From what I have gathered, this was written back in February, meaning at the Amazing spiderman christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this time of this draft, there must have been a substantial amount of conversation/support for it to get to the 1st draft stage. (I could be wrong- the steps opinions take before released to the public aren’t super clear). Hopefully, since the release of this opinion, there has been extreme push pack from the Dem justices… time will tell It’s going to be the majority opinion, so unless one or more get swayed, it’s the opinion of the court and Roe will be overturned. I don’t think I’ve seen ANY SORT OF REASONING for this. What sort of bullshit logic is behind this overturn? Someone please explain what mental gymnastics are going on here.

The overturn is based on the Amazing spiderman christmas shirt Furthermore, I will do this fact that the reasoning in Roe was fairly flimsy, the very reasons for the overturn today were pointed out at the time by Justice White. The reality is that there is no text explicitly protecting abortion in the amendment, and such a right doesn’t have much historical basis. Hence why the issue is returned to the states, next step is to either amend the constitution or rely on state law. The Tenth Amendment is quite explicit on this point: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Violation of the separation of powers between the various branches of government. -Cato institute So basically, as I understand it and being neutral, since abortion is not a federal responsibility, it was determined to violate the 10th amendment which means the individual states decide.
