all they can get, as far as I know, are puberty blockers. If they decide they don’t want it they stop taking them and puberty continues as normal. On the Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Shark Always Be A Shark T-Shirt moreover I will buy this note about hormones and waiting for adulthood. Is that waiting for adulthood is making a hormone choose(or forcing one). Puberty happens before adulthood. So not allowing teens who are trans to get hormone therapy is making a physically altering choice. It’s making the choice to have a trans person them go through the wrong puberty. Also for non trans kids. We make physically altering decisions frequently for kids. Including puberty blockers for childern who start way too early. Surgery to correct non life threatening issues like clef lip. Girl with high level of T will take a T suppressant to help them. For all the non trans stuff. We just nod along and go yep. But when it’s for trans kids we pause. Because we are engrained that whatever genitals you have a birth decided everything. Buts it’s not true. It’s just a bias we have.

Sadly it is happening. There are places called transition clinics that specialize in transition options. But the Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Shark Always Be A Shark T-Shirt moreover I will buy this only real option if you go there is “yes” Starts at schools. Teacher tells kids about how great it is to be nonbinary and how “if you feel you were born in the right body you are evil” Social pressure to be non cisgendered causes kids who don’t know any better to cave in before they know what they signed up for. This is NOT a typical case but it can happen. One kid I know was asked in his elementary school for 6 hours if he was sure he was a boy. He was in the fourth grade. After the kid is left questioning if they were born correctly transition clinics step in. They practically BULLY parents into affirming their child’s transition and look for no other alternatives. It’s a broad question. Breast reduction surgery for the purpose of conforming gender. Also, in cases of hermaphroditism or other outwardly physical issues, surgery may be performed. But for cases of gender dysphoria related to genetics or other non-visible conditions, surgery would happen only with adults. Minors may use hormone drugs or puberty blockers, but even that doesn’t happen in a vacuum. This is in conjunction with psychological examinations and careful consideration between parents and health care providers, ensuring any treatment is in the best interest of the child.
