Working in hospitals for my entire career, I have to warn you all: I’ve never seen an old tattoo that looked artistic. With time, they all get blurred and all the art looks like mush. And the more intricate they are, the worse they look. So be warned: that expensive art doesn’t turn out so well. I cannot figure out why they are so popular! There are certainly more ways, both less expensive and more attractive, to show individuality! And… in some cases, they limit a person’s future. Some jobs/careers do not accept any visible ink. Each to their own, but as a senior citizen who came of age in a time when they were not acceptable in “nice,” or “acceptable,” society, it’s a bit difficult to accept something that essentially mars the natural look of a person’s skin. I’m personally not a fan of ‘unplanned stickers then filled in the gaps’, and it makes me assume the person’s character is similarly spontaneous and go-with-the-flow.

If it’s well planned, mad respect and I love it. It takes discipline and thinking ahead about available space to do it this way. Also different if it’s a dude wearing a cap backwards or a beautiful woman. Women also tend to have two main styles: dainty/fineline, or traditional/more bold.
