I have the same dynamic in my household, but the roles are reversed. My wife is not the more academic type but I am, and when it comes to normal household tasks the outcome is the same; she tends to be faster at them and I tend to be slower. Not only do I have very little concept of time, but the job isn’t done until it’s done perfectly. You’ve likely already finished the job and it’s good enough. I’m still thinking about how to optimally approach the job so that it’s done perfectly with the least amount of work. Also what is time? I have a family member who works as an accountant. They graduated top of their class and could do the work they do in their head. But they aren’t allowed to have a credit card or open access to their spouses account because they can’t balance their own spending to save their life. They can’t apply their skills to real world situations. We all have our strengths and weaknesses.
